LBS / SBS / MSL
The performance of polyester strapping is measured with the following values:
■ L-BS (Linear Breaking Strength): is the linear breaking strength, i.e. the breaking value under traction of the tape or strap alone.
■ S-BS (System Breaking Strength): is the breaking strength of the system, i.e. the breaking value under traction of the strapping assembly with clip or the tape assembly
with buckle.
■ MSL (Maximum Securing Load): is the maximum value that a strapping or lashing product can withstand before starting to deform plastically. The IMO (International Maritime Organization) considers the MSL value to be 50% of the breaking strength of the system (S-BS).
